Let’s Talk Lash Lift and Tints!
What is a Lash Lift & Lash Tint?
Lash Lifts:
Lash lifts are a newer treatment that has gained popularity in recent years. Essentially, a lash lift is a perm for eyelashes. This is done using silicone rods and a lash perm solution to lift the lashes from the root and curl them upward.
Lash lifts simplify your daily makeup routine by removing the need to use lash curlers or mascara. Lash lifts can last up to 6-8 weeks with proper aftercare.
Lash Tints:
Lash tinting is the process of dying the lashes a darker color. Lash tints can be done as a treatment on their own, or they can be added to a lash lift service to complete the look. Tints are done by using semi-permanent dyes in a variety of colors, depending on the look you prefer. Tints can last anywhere from 3-5 weeks before needing to be redone.
Lift & tint aftercare: 24 hours post appointment
With a gorgeous lash curl and natural pop of color, there are a few things you need to put the brakes on to ensure your new look lasts. This is especially important during the first 24 hours after your appointment.
The things listed below are mostly to ensure your lash lift is not disturbed after application. A lash tint alone does not have the same requirements, but when the two lash services are combined, the proper precautions are important for the best results
For the first 24 hours after a lash lift and tint, DO NOT:
Get your lashes wet, expose them to steam, moisture, or sweat
Sleep directly on your face
Apply makeup to your lashes
Expose your lashes to heat or a tanning bed
Directly apply any kind of lash serum or product to your lash line that contains oil
How to care for them between appointments:
The first 24 hours after your lift and tint appointment can make or break the results. But the good news: Once that period is over and you’ve followed the proper instructions, aftercare is a breeze!
Give your lashes a quick brush each day to keep that fresh curl in place.
Refrain from vigorous rubbing directly along your lash line (this is a general lash health tip to practice at all times!)
If you love to swim in a pool, try to keep your lashes from being overly exposed to chlorine and protect them by wearing goggles. Chlorine is not good for the lasting effects of your lash tint.
Direct sun exposure can shorten the longevity of your lash tint, so wear sunglasses or a hat to protect your lashes if you’re going to be in the sun for a long time.
